YES, I think this is the way to go – each user has access to the PHOTOS blog/section and that is the place dedicated to family photos. Next to that though each member has their own GALLERY which is just their own bunch of photos, not necessarily regarding the family, but maybe about their cat or yard… something personal, not something contained in their own blog and definitely not belonging into the family photos… let the confusion for the user begin. If it gets too bad, I might have to delete the GALLERY option.
